The Health Breaks Active Healthy Schools Program

Making life easier for teachers in creating an active and calm classroom environment for students.

Health Breaks inspires students to take a short brain break each day for their physical and mental wellbeing within their normal school environment. We aim to support schools to champion healthy habits for healthy bodies and minds across the school community.

The program provides teachers with access to the Health Breaks app, which has easy to use multi-media resources to guide exercise and breathing activities for active and calming brain breaks. All on the one platform, teachers access daily age-appropriate healthy breaks for their students without the need for planning or scripting. The guided, narrated videos, downloads, galleries, quizzes, activity sheets, gamified tools are pre-formatted, freeing teachers to focus on other/core areas of education.

Schools have access to Playlists of Active Breaks and Calm Breaks – specifically designed for those under 10 years and students over 10 years.

  • Healthy Active Schools Base Package

    Easy to use platform for teachers to conduct active and calm brain breaks for mental and physical wellbeing in any school setting.

    Active breaks include 5-10min stretch routines, strength activities, fun activity spinners and fitness challenges. Calm breaks include 2-5min breathing, meditation and mindfulness activities for mental wellbeing.

    Includes age appropriate Playlists for students under 10 years and one for over 10 years.

  • Healthy Active Schools Premium Package

    Our Premium Healthy Schools Program includes teacher access to Health Breaks app for Active and Calm brain breaks plus the full Leadership Program and training for School Health Champs.

    Includes:

    Calm Breaks for mental wellbeing: breathing, meditation, positivity and mindfulness breaks.

    1. Active Breaks for healthy bodies: stretching routines, strength and core, yoga and balance, and fitness routines.
    2. Health Champs Program: Leadership Program for Student Peer Health Champions

  • Health Champs Program: Leadership Program for Student Peer Health Champions

    A leadership program for peer champions of health in schools. Health Champs inspire their peers to take a short break every day to do something positive for their mind & body.

    Health Champs will participate in 3 workshops learning leadership skills for health and wellbeing.

    Health Champs will lead by example by encouraging their peers to take active or calm brain breaks each day. They will also assist with promoting school-wide lifestyle healthy behaviours using the Healthy Schools Calendar and Health Breaks resource kit and online platform.

  • Active, Healthy Schools Health Promotion Kit

    An annual wellbeing program for Healthy Active Schools including:

    1. School Health Promotion Kit – fliers, infographics, calendar, worksheets, fact sheets
    2. Year-round Active/Calm brain breaks Streaks Challenge (one brain break on Health Breaks app daily)
    3. School wide Team Step & Healthy Habits challenge – a one month challenge for the school community
