September 22 - Who is Your Squad?

Welcome to Spring 2022! As the weather is starting to brighten up and tease us with some warmer days it’s time to get outside and ramp up the Vitamin D intake. There is no better way to add a spring into your step than walking in the sunshine on a daily basis.

In preparation for our Step Challenge month (October), we encourage you to bring your friends and colleagues together and form a team. This team will, together, strive towards achieving 10,000 steps a day for the whole month of October.

This month it’s about choosing people you know will help you commit and you know you will help them too. Start talking about how, when, where and with who you will walk with and map out some SMART goals.  

Your goal can go something like this:

We will walk together every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 noon for 40 minutes.

Then put those dates in your calendar and set your reminders. Loop everyone into a messenger or text group and you are all set to go for the start of October!

To keep your legs limber and ready, take your stretch outdoors in September and try logging into Health Breaks from your phone. Find a quiet place and use a spinner to try different stretches on the app. 

We have provided two Stretch Routines below for you to make a start. For those who are members, there are hundreds of stretch routines on Health Breaks app, especially designed for you and your wellbeing. Enjoy!

It's time to get ready to Step it Up for Spring

Get ready for October with your very own Employee Step Challenge. Now is the time to organise your teams and start preparing for a fun-filled Spring. There is nothing better than a bit of friendly competition to heat things up in the workplace. This fully-inclusive challenge allows participants to walk, run, cycle, stretch, do yoga, pliates, any form of movement to earn step points. Health Breaks app adds fun activities, group mini-challenges and inspiration to help you to achieve your best in health and wllbeing – ready for the Summer!

To register, ask your organsational representative and Health Breaks will help you step by step to create the best, funnest and greatest Step Challenge for your workplace.

Repeating daily habits:

In September we also encourage you to bring more colour onto your plate. Different coloured vegetables deliver different combinations of vitamins and phytochemicals to boost your health. Try a rainbow bowl of your own creation!
