Mindfully Moving
As we continue through a chilly Winter, the good news is, we are moving closer to Spring. But to keep warm in July, we are focussing on Mindfully Moving.
Moving Mindfully means paying attention to what are bodies are doing and how our bodies are feeling.
If we are standing still, are we leaning to one side, putting our weigh through one foot? Are we slumping our shoulders forward? Are we holding our head to the side?
When we are sitting, are we hunching our upper back? Are we sinking into our lower back? Are we leaning on one hand?
When we are walking, are we slouching our shoulders? Are we folding our arms? Are we looking down?
Is your mood effecting your posture? If so, how?
Tuning into our body and asking these questions is a form of Mindfulness. Ask your students these questions as they settle into the classroom in the mornings or after lunch. Ask them, if you were to sit more mindfully, how would you sit? What would change?
To help you stay focussed this month, we put out the challenge to complete a mindfulness activity each day. Use the QR codes below to connect with Mindfulness activities.
